REVIEW-Sky in the Deep

Raised to be a warrior, seventeen-year-old Eelyn fights alongside her Aska clansmen in an ancient rivalry against the Riki clan. Her life is brutal but simple: fight and survive. Until the day she sees the impossible on the battlefield—her brother, fighting with the enemy—the brother she watched die five years ago.

Faced with her brother’s betrayal, she must survive the winter in the mountains with the Riki, in a village where every neighbor is an enemy, every battle scar possibly one she delivered. But when the Riki village is raided by a ruthless clan thought to be a legend, Eelyn is even more desperate to get back to her beloved family.

She is given no choice but to trust Fiske, her brother’s friend, who sees her as a threat. They must do the impossible: unite the clans to fight together, or risk being slaughtered one by one. Driven by a love for her clan and her growing love for Fiske, Eelyn must confront her own definition of loyalty and family while daring to put her faith in the people she’s spent her life hating.

I received an e-ARC copy via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’m totally picking up Adrienne Young’s next book. This book is full of adventures, vikings, fights and characters that you will fall in love with. I wasn’t drawn to this book until I requested it on NetGalley. And I don’t regret this decision. This book was a strong debut with interesting plot, characters who are not flat and much more.

Sky in the Deep follows two clans which are rivals. Main character Eelyn lives with one of the clans. She is captured by the other clan. Eelyn must learn to survive with people that are her enemies. She meets her brother Iri who died 5 years ago but apparently he is alive and healthy. All the novel Eelyn doesn’t know where her loyalties lie. And it is actually understandable.

Personally i loved Eelyn. She is a great example of strong, brave female character. I loved that she was loyal to her family, her clan. Loyalty is probably the main topic in this book. It is talked a lot in this book and we see how Eelyn struggles to understand who she is loyal to.

This book was mostly fast paced. It showed lives of vikings and you can see that the author did her research. I wasn’t a big fan of vikings before reading this novel but I may watch the TV show now. This story was original. I couldn’t put it down.
Another thing that I loved in this novel was romance. It wasn’t dragging the story. It just exist in the back ground and I think it was the right decision. Because this book isn’t about romance. It is about family, friends, loss, loyalty, love. This book in my opinion is good and I’m it will be popular when it comes out. For me it was a lot of fighting which I’m not a fan of. But on the other hand author wanted to show what characteristics these people had, how they lived. And I understand that fighting were important part of Viking’s lives.

This is a strong debut novel which I’m highly recommend to read if you like Vikings or just want to read a book that will keep you at the edge of your seat.

Best TV Shows, Movies, Songs of 2016

Besides books, I like watching TV shows, movies and listening to music. In 2016 there are a lots of good music and movies came out so I decided to do a post about my favorite music and other things of 2016.

TV shows

2016 is a year when I re-watched a lot of TV shows that I watched in my childhood such as Shake it Up,ICarly etc.  Of course I watched a lot of new TV shows and I want to share with you my top 5 favourite TV shows.

The Originals

I know almost everybody already watched it and VD but I’m late to the party. Unlike many people,i prefer more Originals that VD. There is more action in Originals and there not so many romantic moments. I absolutely love Klaus,Hailey and Elijah and other.

Red Band Society

I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. To be honest I’m not a big fan of tv shows, books movies about real life but this TV shows was phenomenal. I like how it represent a life in hospital, how teenagers feel themselves.

W (Korean drama)

I’m not a fan of manga, anime and another Korean stuff but sometimes I watch Korean dramas. It is my guilty pleasure. Anyway I watched 2 dramas this year and I like them both but W was the best. W is about a girl who falls in love with a guy who is actually a character in a comic series. I watched all episodes so quickly and enjoyed them so much.

Avatar:The Last Airbender

I re-watched it this year and loved it even more than the first time. Like I wrote above, I don’t like anime and Avatar is the only anime I like. I started watching Korean but quit because it wasn’t my thing.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

It is my least favorite on this list,i think. The reason is when i started watching back in August I was so obsessed about it. But now season 4 came out and I think that it is the worst season yet. I love the first 3 seasons and only because I hope the 4 season will become better,i’m continue watching Agents now. I want to tell you one thing. Until I started Agents,i’d never watched Marvel (or DC) movie before. Overall I think this TV show is perfect for people who like actions and superpowers in movies.

I haven’t watched a lot of movies this year so I chose only 3 movies that are my favorite of 2016.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

BEST MOVIE EVER. I love this movie and want to watch it now again. Especially I liked animals and characters. My favorite animal is Niffler because I have my own Niffler at home. The reason is I have my dog Terry and fortunately she doesn’t steal my jewelry but sometimes I can’t find my socks in the morning. Anyway I love setting to. I don’t know why but for me 1920s were always magical especially in America.

Alice Through The Looking Glass

I watched it in cinema and was blown away.  I love first movie but this was even better. If you don’t know,my favorite actor is Johnny Depp. So I loved this film so muchhn

3.The DUFF

Yeah, I know it is weird that this movie based on book which I hate. I love all characters here. It was interesting to see how girl overcomes labels and bulling. To be honest I watched a lot American real life drama this year.

For this one,i decided to choose 3 albums that I liked and songs that weren’t in these albums.

Illuminate by Shawn Mendes

I like Shawn’s music and this album wasn’t exception. My favorite songs:Mercy,Bad Reputation,Understand,No Promises, Treat You Better.

Wild World by Bastille

I wasn’t a fan of this band until heard this album and now they are one of my favorite band. I remember that I listened to one song by them several years ago and I liked it but after that I didn’t listen to the whole album. Favorite songs:An Act of Kindness, The Currents, Final Hour, The Anchor, Lethargy.

I know,it isn’t album but it was new band to me and I literally listened to all of their music. Remember that time when everybody loved Classic by them?  To be honest I was one of them but I didn’t check this album then and done it only this year. Favorite songs:Thank You, American Dream, Monaco, Just Imagine It, Afraid of the Dark.

Book Blog Newbie

Hi guys. I decided to do this cool tag about starting book bloging. Enjoy!

Why did you start you blog?

I love writing about books and I have account on Books Amino. Because of this site I found a lots of friends that read books. So I decided to create my own blog where will be my reviews and thoughts on books and I can keep track of my favorite books.

What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book bloging

Mostly I read popular YA books but about a year ago I understood that there are a lots of YA books that underrated and sometimes they even better than popular books. Anyway I read both popular and underrated books and I will write review on most of the books that I read.

What are you most excited for about this new blog?

The most exciting  thing about this blog is that I will join new book community. Also I hope to find new bookworms who will be my friends.

Why do you love reading?

I think every bookworm would answer you that when you read, you can travel to another worlds and fight with characters or solve mysteries. The book is one of the things that can cheer me up after a long day in school. To be honest sometimes I forget about homework and remembered at 1am. So books are addictive too.

What book or series got you into reading?

My first book series were The Selection by Kiera Cass and The Precious Stones by Kiersten Gier. I love both of these series. Before I started reading I thought that reading is boring. Yeah, shame on me. But now I have other opinion. These books  were so good and action packed. To be honest this year I reread The Precious Stones and I liked it as a first time.

What questions would you ask your favorite authors?

“Where do they get ideas for theirs books? “

“Where do they find inspiration for books?”

And last question “Why did they kill my favorite characters in the books?”

What challenges do you think starting a blog will be the hardest to overcome?

I’m not a quitter but sometimes I can be super exhausted from school and homework and I can’t even read when I’m tired. I hope I will post often.

When did you start reading?

I always like buying books. When I was younger I bought books and then they just sat on my shelf and I’ve never read them. But one summer when I was 12 years old,i watched one booktube video and I immediately wanted to read every teen book in the whole world.

Where do you read?

Most time in my bedroom. The reason is I like reading  e-books but I can’t read in noise. Sometimes I read in school but it happens so rarely.

What kind of books do you like to read?

Like I wrote above i love YA but apart from this genre,i also read contemporaries, fantasy, high fantasy, historical fiction, mysteries and detective stories.
